Planting New Fruit Trees: The winter has been nice and cold this year, but more importantly for me, it has been unusually dry. This meant that we were able to till the ground already this month and get our fruit trees planted good and early. That's ideal, because it gives the trees time to settle in and make some new root growth before the leaves emerge. So we got all the pears planted, and got the cherries planted in advance of getting the tunnel constructed over them.
